At Bell Waste, we recycle more than 80% of the waste we process. We separate rubble, wood, cardboard, plastics, metal and paper. We are constantly seeking ways to improve our recycling methods to reduce what is sent to landfill, reduce the impact on our environment and provide the most cost-effective solutions for our customers.

Inert Waste

Inert waste is not chemically or biologically reactive and will not decompose; an example of this is concrete. We handle the large majority of this type of waste and wood at our second processing yard where the inert material is pre-sorted by hand and then loaded into a set of machines. The machines separate the material via drums, screens, fingers and magnets. The segregation process enables us to supply local contractors and sub-contractors with quality materials. We currently supply the following recycled aggregates, fills and soils:

  • Top Soil
  • 25-40mm brick
  • 60mm brick
  • 60mm+ brick
  • 60-0mm – crushed concrete
  • 60-40mm – crushed brick/concrete
  • 40-0mm – crushed brick/concrete

All wood is inspected for quality and then segregated accordingly. We separate wood into two grades; each grade has a different home, ranging from composting plants to chipboard mills. For further information about materials that we’re able to supply, please contact our sales team.

General Waste

The greatest volume of waste is processed in our material recycling facility where it undergoes a full inspection and pre-sort before being stockpiled. After stockpiling, the material is fed into our waste processing system by a re-handling grab. Once the material is loaded into the system it is processed by screens, magnets, air separation and manual separation.

The Bell Waste team have a tough job to meet our recycling targets and the commitment to reduce our environmental impact. These jobs include waste inspection, litter picking, cleaning, water sampling and waste quarantining.
